My name is Ashley, and I’m mom to a 13-year-old — and I’m 30. That’s right: I was 17 when I had my first child.
I was very lucky, because I had a lot of support from my family and friends when it came to getting pregnant and having a baby at such a young age. I know not all young mothers who find themselves in the position I was in are as lucky as I was, so I created YoungMoms as a way to “pay forward” the love and warmth my daughter and I have received all along.
If you’re a young mommy or soon-to-be mommy, I want you to know that everything will be alright. Being a young parent may not be easy, but nothing worth having in life is! I hope this site will offer you practical support and a sense of community — it’s true when they say it takes a village to raise a child, and the YoungMoms team is here to be part of yours.
